Code of Ethics
1. Commitment to Care
I will serve the best interests of my clients at all times and provide the highest quality of bodywork and service possible. I recognize that the obligation for building and maintaining an effective, healthy, and safe therapeutic relationship with my clients is my responsibility.
2. Commitment to Do No Harm
I will always lead with love and healing intentions. I understand the importance of ethical touch and therapeutic intent and will conduct sessions with the sole objective of benefitting the client. My approach is fully client-centered. The client is in control of the treatment they receive, and can decline aspects of the bodywork, or stop the session at any point. My mission is to support clients’ healing and personal growth with love and compassion, working with Universal guidance in all aspects of the practice.
3. Commitment to Honest Representation of Qualifications
I will carefully evaluate the needs of each client and refer the client to another provider if the client requires work beyond my capabilities, or beyond the capacity of Sex Doula, Intimacy & Sex Coaching, Somatic Sex Education or Sacred Intimacy work.
4. Commitment to Uphold the Inherent Worth of All Individuals
I will demonstrate compassion, respect, and tolerance for others. I will seek to decrease discrimination, misunderstandings, and prejudice. I understand there are situations when it is appropriate to decline service to a client because it is in the best interests of a client's health, or for my personal safety, but I will not refuse service to any client based on disability, ethnicity, gender, marital status, physical build, or sexual orientation; religious, national, or political affiliation; social or economic status.
5. Commitment to Our Sacred Space
I will demonstrate my respect for the dignity and rights of all individuals by providing a Sacred Space. I am committed to maintaining a safe, fun and playful environment for individuals and groups. I strive to maintain the space in a clear, clean and safe manner.
6. Commitment to Informed Consent
I will recognize a client’s right to determine what happens to their body. I will fully inform my clients of choices relating to their care, and disclose limitations that may affect their care. I will provide advance information for clients about what the session entails; ensuring informed consent from clients, both written and verbal during the therapy process. I will not provide touch without obtaining a client’s informed consent to the session plan. Boundaries may change for each session, however not during a session. Once a session has begun we cannot add additional services but the client is able to stop or pause at any time.
7. Commitment to Confidentiality
I will ensure every effort is made to respect a client’s right to privacy and provide an environment where personal health-related details cannot be overheard or seen by others.
8. Commitment to Personal and Professional Boundaries
I will conduct a safe and ethical learning experience for my clients. I recognize that a sexual relationship is not appropriate between teacher and client and do not encourage or respond to any romantic or sexual intent from clients. I will not seek to fulfill my erotic appetites with my client. In the therapeutic space erotic touch is unidirectional, healer to client. If clients wish to learn and practice interpersonal erotic skills, I request they bring their partners or invite them to share and learn with a surrogate lover. If I fulfill the role of surrogate, I am always conscious of that, and make Clients conscious that, sessions will neither fulfill any desire for romantic sexual relationship outside of the professional setting.
9. Commitment to Professionalism
I will maintain clear and honest communication with clients and colleagues. I will not conduct sessions if either my client or myself is under the influence of drugs, alcohol, hangover, jetlag or illness.
